Why Grounded Family Life Exists

I’m a father in my 50s, married, with two teenage children. Both are neurodiverse – each in their own way – as, in truth, we all are.

I started Grounded Family Life as a place to reflect honestly on what family life has taught me. Not as an expert. Not as someone who has it all figured out. But as a parent who has felt the weight of it, the frustration of it, and the quiet growth that comes from staying steady through it.

Family life can be harder than we expect. The routines, the emotional load, the misunderstandings, the feeling of being stretched thinner than you thought possible.

Writing here has become both a way to support others and a way to process my own thinking. It helps me step back, reframe, and return to what matters.

My hope is that if you find yourself here – tired, frustrated, unsure if you’re handling things “right” – you’ll feel less alone. And perhaps find a steadier way forward.

Grounded Family Life isn’t about perfection.
It’s about lowering pressure without lowering values.
It’s about choosing steadiness over control.
It’s about remembering that formation takes time.

If these reflections help you feel more grounded in your own home, then this space is doing what it was meant to do
